Our first location opened in the spring of '95 in the quaint town of Southampton, where the Saugeen River meets the open water of Lake Huron.

Southampton is centrally located not only to some of the best paddling in Southern Ontario, but also to a vast array of trail systems for hikers, bikers and X-country skiing.

Southampton is surrounded by history, and our Thorncrest Outfitters location is no different.

Our store is located in the original Post Office of the town. In keeping with our store's history, we have painted our two 150-year-old original front doors "Post Office Red".

These doors welcome you into a friendly and informative environment to learn more about the outdoors, Southampton and all that Thorncrest can offer you. Let us introduce you and your family to the outdoor lifestyle by enjoying one of our guided packages. Or, use our River Shuttle service and equipment rentals to create your own experience.

Our staff are expert in educating our customers on products that can make any outdoor experience more enjoyable in any elements.

Thorncrest Outfitters sits in the middle of a culturally diverse community with everything from great paddling on the Saugeen River and Lake Huron to the Bruce County Museum, the Southampton Art School and Gallery, and our very own historical restoration of the Chantry Island lighthouse keepers' quarters and grounds.

Both High street and Albert St (Highway 21) offer a wide selection of shopping for the entire family. We are also home to fine dining establishments and many great family restaurants. Thorncrest Outfitters uses the services of many of these businesses to assist us in the complete package programs that we offer. Our shoreline is ready to tempt you with your overnight stay in our many B and B's and motels, so, come for more than just a day!!!

Our Southampton shop is located at the west end of High Street in Saugeen Shores.
When traveling on Highway 21, turn west (toward the lake) at Southampton's one and only set of lights. Thorncrest Outfitters is the third shop on your left.

Southampton is approximately 2 1/2 hours northwest of Toronto, 2 1/2 hours from the Cambridge, Kitchener area and 3 hours from London.

Our destination is easily accessible for a day, a weekend or more.
