Fishing Islands Kayak Tour Lake Huron

The Fishing Islands were once a thriving fishing industry in the early 1800's and now serves as an excellent backdrop to learning some basic kayak skills and enjoy paddling amongst the nautical history of the area. The morning is spent going over the basic skills of paddling technique, safety and packing as we set out for a shore lunch. In the afternoon we will paddle the crystal clear waters of the Fishing Islands taking in the scenery and searching for remnants of shipwrecks below. This group of islands is home to a fascinating variety of flora and fauna that changes each year with the rise and fall of the lake levels. You will be amazed at the shallow and warm waters found through this region and experience breathtaking scenery that unfolds in front of you.
